What is a gyro ball?

Does anyone know what a gyroball does and how to throw it?

A gyroball is basically a purposely thrown backup slider. This doesn’t mean one needs to learn to throw a bad slider, instead learn to throw a proper slider with feel for its break and then be able to manipulate this spin. The illusion to a batter is that the pitch will have a lateral break due to its rotation but instead stays straight…or what looks like goes the opposite way because a hitter dives or tries to let it get deep and therefore gets beat to the punch on the pitch.

The best ones are obviously accidental and not something that a professional would waste time trying to recreate.

thank you

You might look in the Japanese league I think that’s kinda where it started and became popular.
