I was playing catch with a high school buddy of mine and he taught me a new way of warming up. normally I would start of slow but around 30-40 feet I would be throwing straight at him and being warm around hitting 90 feet. He said that I should throw no lower than a 45 degree angle until I hit around 200-225 feet. In doing this I was so loose when he started coming back in throwing ropes to him felt like it was natural. I encourage most to try this. not only when long tossing as in the jaeger method.
My pitchers don’t touch a ball until they’re warmed up. What you’re describing sounds like a good approach to long toss but not warming up. IMHO.
Warming up as in throwing or warming up as in getting the blood flowing to the body? I figured that was a given
