does throwing off a mound affect your velocity? if it does by how much?
Throwing off a mound generally has you throwing 2-4 mph harder than if you were pitching off flat ground, it seems to vary from person to person.
It really does vary from person to person… Just on my team there is a huge variance. Our main relief kid throws serious smoke on or off a mound, and one of our other flame throws looks like he’s throwing bad changeups instead of fastballs on the flat ground. Then he steps on the mound it he seems like a whole new kid.
