Don’t think I would call it a leap. He definitely generates some momentum and achieves a long stride. But how much of that is from getting the hips going sooner/faster and the big sweeping stride versus pushing off the rubber is the question. I can’t tell from watching video.
He certainly is a remarkeble pitcher from a mechanical standpoint, hes stride has to be well over 6 feet and hes only 5’10" himself. Not to mention that he has a dirty curveball lol
