Throwing Anatomy Part 3

#1

I just finished my third article in a series discussing the muscles involved in throwing a baseball. They are published on insidepitching.com. The third installment can be found here http://www.insidepitching.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=813

I love to know your thoughts!

Nice article you made. Do you know any exercises to loosen up my deaccelaration muscles? They’re sometimes pretty tight after a bullpen session.

Thanks

Excellent. I went back and read the first two, as well. Very well written and easy to follow (even for us non-doctors!).

Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate the feedback.

The best stretches for the rotator cuff, which does the vast majority of the deceleration work, are the sleeper stretch and the arm across stretches. If you check out my site there is an article on the sleeper stretch: http://danblewett.com/2009/06/the-sleeper-stretch-essential-to-shoulder-health/
and the other rotator cuff and delt stretches here: http://danblewett.com/2009/08/more-shoulder-stretches-for-pitchers/
