Thoughts on back squat, bb bench, and over head pressing?

Is is really detrimental if you’re doing mobility work?

risk/reward type thing…what is your compelling reason for wanting to overhead press and barbell bench?

I don’t have one, I was just curious.

I’m doing show and go starting monday with the recommended mods. from cressey.

  1. Front squat instead of back squat
  2. DB bench instead of BB
  3. Pushup variations instead of OHP
  4. 2-3x/week medball exercises
  5. rhythmic stabilization work 2x/week

Along with some assess and correct exercises

and kyle’s weighted ball program

I don’t really see what would be wrong with back squats of you’re doing them correctly.

Front squats place less stress on the shoulder bundle.

I pulled this from Cressey’s website:

Makes sense to me.

If I make some serious changes this year, I’ll be visiting there soon. Too bad I live very far away. I heard it’s a great experience.

I did some squats yesterday and I immediately found out what you mean. I thought he meant the ROM is the legs, haha.

Did some front squats today. They were awesome imo
