Erik Bedard was 5 foot 4 120 pounds as a SENIOR in high school. Yet he still made it to the show and was dominant with the mariners.
Another example which is one of my personal favorite:
Billy Wagner was 5’ 3’’ 140 when he graduated high school and he still made it to the big leagues.
he even was a righty as a kid but broke his arm and switched to left. this guy was WAY beyond any odds of ever reach anything proffesionnal, he just had the stuff and the determination.
Should give hope to a lot of of smaller ball players.
Remember Bobby Shantz? He was 5’6" if he was an inch, and that didn’t stop him from being one of the best pitchers in the American League in his playing days. Yes, there is hope for the shrimps. It’s what you do with what you’ve got. 8)
Growing 7 inches to 6’1" during the summer after high school didn’t hurt!
