swimming is supposed to be a full body workout. and it certainly is a great workout for cardio…do you think it would be effective for pitching? has anyone done this?

That said, Dylan Bundy is rumored swim 1/2 mile after starts. If you don’t know who Dylan is, here is a couple of articles on him.
Tom house has described swimming as a joint-loosening activity for the shoulders and that’s something pitchers definitely don’t need. I suspect certain strokes (e.g. brest stroke) are not as bad as others (e.g. butterfly or backstroke).
