As a pitcher in my offseason weight training, should I be doing strict standing overhead presses with the barbell?
I’ve heard mixed things. It’s one of those risk to reward things. I wouldn’t press, but what can be beneficial is raising the bar to where your hands are when you reach up ( excuse the poor phrasing here ) and simply hold it. This will help stability in the shoulders and possibly even strengthen them. I would do lighter weights though.
