Can static stretching be done every day or should it be limited to a certain number of times per week?
I stretch everyday and do yoga 5x a week. As long as you don’t do too much stretching everyday and you don’t try to overextend yourself, I see no reason you can’t everyday.
I do 2 sets of 15 second for each stretch. Make sure to include every muscle group. Especially your legs and especially your hamstrings.
I use “Rodney Yee’s Ultimate Power Yoga” dvd. It has 4, 20 minute workouts and 1 15 minute one. I like all of them because you can get them done quick. You could get that dvd from the library or on ebay for like 5 bucks. My mother found it really cheap and brand new. I think it’s like 15 bucks at Barnes and Noble.
Hope I helped!
I appreciate the input and I’m also hoping to get the opinion of kyleb (or another expert) if he sees this message.
We do a lot of static stretching post-throwing. Most of our warmups involve dynamic mobility, band work, and limited static stretching (mostly hip flexors).
Thanks for the input.
