Spin rate

#1

Hey friends! It’s been awhile! I last talked about my pitching camp for my Highschool team. Despite my low velocity, I was almost selected. the highschool team accepted 30 players and I was number 31. Since I know that velocity is a long process to build, I figured that I would also work on my spin rate to get the ball more break, but I realized I have no idea how to get more break. I learned this weekend through my dad that I have a solid cutter, and I want to make it spin more and move more. How do I do that?

A release point that is out in front of your front foot is the strongest for spinning the ball. So, cleaning up your mechanics to avoid doing those things that pull the release point back and raise it up (usually posture or glove issues) will let you get better movement.
