when you are gripping the ball put more pressure with your middle finger then your index finger

Just a word of caution of the slider.

It is really easy to throw it wrong and put excess stress on your elbow.

I’d recommend throwing a 4-seam fastball, and simply cutting it by pushing off the side of the ball rather than pushing from behind the ball. So your arm motion is exactly the same, you just are just cutting the ball. Mariano Rivera style. A simple pronation of the wrist, vs. the tempting thing to rotate your entire arm around the ball.

This pitch is harder than a slider, will not break as much…but will not stress your elbow.
