Release point///back foot

when you release the ball, should your back foot (pivot/push off foot)still be on the dirt or should it be just starting to come up. I was just wondering because i’ve seen both.

I believe most elite pitchers still have the back foot on the ground at release. There are, of course, some notable exceptions such as Curt Schilling.

Tom House and the NPA teach keeping the head and shoulders stacked upright into release and that posture has the effect of keeping the back foot down.
