So last week I had to miss my 15u son’s Tournament game in which he pitched in relief. I get a call from his mother during an inning he was on the mound and she tells me that my son’s ball is making a woooosh sound She’s never heard before, and that several people kept turning around to ask her where all this velocity came from all of a sudden (he had given up on pitching to concentrate on catching over the past year) He has never really had this type of velocity before, had been low 70’s - His catcher told him one College recruiter said he hit 81 on his gun (I’m not believing that though). Is it strange that I’m far more upset over missing this moment than If I had missed his first steps as a baby?
