Posture Change

My son who is a freshman LHP is having a hard time of breaking a habit of leaning back or towards third base with his upper body as his stride foot lands.

This usually moves his release point and causes him to miss down in the dirt. Any thoughts on how to help get him into a position that would help stop doing this.

Sorry I dont have an updated video of him throwing.

First thing to look at is his setup on the mound. Sometimes putting more bend in the waist and knees can help a pitcher stabilize posture. Next, I’d look at tempo down the hill. A good tempo helps keep everything moving towards the target. Finally, sometimes toning down a high knee lift can also help.
