One of the Best Lefty's who throws like a righty!

This guy is just plain filthy. So is Liriano and Santana.

That is Kazmir right? He is filthy. Ummm what makes you say he throws like a righty i have no idea. Liriano is unreal by the way.

I am being sarcastic for one.

Secondly, he throws like a righty is a reference to having mechanics like a right handed player. Many Lefties can’t reach that extra 5-6 mph like your normal righty can. That’s all.

randy johnson is a lefty and he throws hard…wut do u mean by lefties not throwin hard

Yeah, I didn’t get it also. What makes a lefty throws “softer” than the righties?

I think he is just mixed up by the “stereotypes”. Like when people say 93-95 is a solid righty, but 90 is fine for lefties.
The reason you don’t see as many hard throwing lefties as righties has nothing to do with handedness. It’s that there are plenty more righties than lefties, so you don’t see it as much.
Wagner, Ryan, Johnson, Liriano, Kazmir, Santana and the rest all kind of change your mind huh?

Come on guys lighten up. The Majority of lefties do not bring it. Let’s be honest.

1 in 10 americans are left handed (or something like that lol) so that would be an explanation of the stereotype. I happen to play high school with two lefties that flat bring the heat, but in league play the few lefties that pitch are junk specialists that throw a fastball on ocassion.

Another thing is an outside fastball to hitters is probably the most common pitch and a lefty to a righty most often throws a two-seam which is a touch slower.

I myself am a righty, although being lefty would be nice cause my changeup would be even more effective.

Anyways Santana and Liriano are absolutely amazing to watch, to see a couple guys that dominant. Unfortunately I haven’t got to see them play in person. Last time I was at the Metrodome griffey was still in Seattle, and the twins were 20 games out of first with a BAD record

I also have to say Liriano got snubbed from the All-star game, and out voted by a former Twins catcher, go figure.

Oh and by the way, I’m a twins fan if you can’t tell, small market all the way!

All I have to say is why didn’t the Twins start this guy at the beginning of the year. He is an amazing Talent. Facing Liriano and Santana in a short series is basically facing defeat. I think the central division is one of the best in Baseball right now and this is coming from a Yankees fan.

I have seen way to many lefties rely on junk in my area to get by. They just do not know how to get a fastball over. It irritates me that all through their youth no one developed a fastball for them. Oh well.

I’m a Giants fan… oh I can’t believe Sabean sent you Liriano… and for Pierzynski… this gotta be thw worst trade in Giants history hehe

Who woulda thought that a guy “to be named later” would be in the allstar running as a rookie. And yes as of right now I would be pretty mad at the Giants GM, lol.

Time will tell, he couldn’t be learning from a better pitcher, and it’s amazing how close his motion and pitchers are to Santana’s

Sounds like the Twins got the better of that deal. Basically two all stars.

When it Comes down to it I am a closet Twins fan!

i have a friend who’s a lefty, he short arms, and he hits 70-73 with a nasty slurve. I’m a righty and i can’t pick him up. He’s 5’7, 130.

Righties are generally thought to throw harder because that is what’s accepted in professional baseball. The avg velocity for a RHP is around 90, while the avg for a LHP is about 87-88. This isn’t because righties are capable of throwing harder, it’s just that lefties can get away with lower velocity at that level, so more “soft tossers” are accepted from the left side.

OH NO I FEEL A WAR GOING ON BETWEEN LEFTIES AND RIGHTIES, RISTAR what side are you on
