Summer ball ends in a couple weeks for my 14 yo. Shortly thereafter, we will change back to Strength Training. Should we continue long toss thru October & then pick back up in January? In addition, is a weighted ball program +/- 20% beneficial if done in the fall, or should we postpone it until after the new year?
Long tossing now till whenever you shut your son down for a break from throwing will help same with the weighted ball program.
The great thing about long toss and weighted balls is you can cycle through the routine various times and still see results.
I know a College program that does long toss and a weighted program concurrently in the fall and then again in January once everyone’s back from winter break.
