My son is 16 and a rising Junior. He just finished the high school season and is about to begin the travel ball season which will end in late July. He will have August off with the option of playing on a fall team beginning in September and running through October. Then he will have November and December off in preparation for January tryouts for varsity. I have heard that a 3-month off season is ideal. I have also read in TuffCuff that a 60-day off-season training option is also legitimate. Does the above schedule sound like a healthy option?
That schedule is pretty common for top high school and all college pitchers. Good luck and keep working hard!
