Movement/Changing Speeds

I found a quick and easy way to both add movement and change speeds on any fastball.

Most fastballs are thrown with the thumb directly below the 2 dominant fingers.

Sliding your thumb up can add lateral movement while taking off a few mph.

You can wide the distance between your index fingers too, to decrease speed.

Be carefull that the movement you’re getting isn’t from supinating. House and the NPA claim that moving the thumb up the side of the ball towards the index finger creates a tendency to supinate.

Ive never really understood supination. The only supination I have ever seen is when kids who dont know how to throw sliders try. Rotating the arm outwards just feels bad and takes SO much off of a pitch
