Lifting weights

#1

can lifting weights cause you to get more power and throw harder

#2

I feel it definately can, especially for guys that are light weights.
The thing people don’t seem to realize is lifting does not directly translate into added velocity. It is a must that you are regularly throwing and getting on a mound while you are lifting.

Lifting makes you a better athlete, you need to practice your sport to apply the skills better.

6 weeks into my offseason lifting I’m throwing noticably harder than I did at the end of my season.

as a pitcher weights will really only help you prevent arm injury and build stamina. The only way to increase speed is by simply throwing a baseball

nice post chrisf

Also there are 2 types of training you can do.

Weight Lifting with more gym exerices

or

Functional training

I have a 12 week program that would be pretty good for anyone. So check it out.

And if you don’t like my program then I think Kc and Centerfielder would be happy to help you with a Weight Lifting Program.

You need to stop this now did I give him 2 choices if he didn’t like the first on you need to stop critizing me if I did state that if he doesn’t like theres or mine he could do the other I never forced anything on him.

So you need to stop. chrisf
