Leading with your hips?

I’m pretty confused about what to do with my lower legs and when to rotate my torso around and stuff. I’ve watched the video’s on google video with that pitching coach from i think it is Umass but I still dont understand, i will get a video up of me as soon as i find batteries for the camera.

When they say lead with the hips what exactly do you mean?

Look at the clips of Rivera, Weaver, and Johnson at the bottom. See how they are already moving towards home before their front knee gets to its peak. Also, they don’t just lift their leg straight up. They are lifting it more towards their belly button. This causes the front hip to turn inward a little and helps keep it closed.

Maybe another way to word it is “lead with the buttcheek”.
