That is exactly what makes a pitcher deceptive. All of those pitches look the same to the hitter until after the decision point. That would be brutal to face.
I live in Oregon. My son is 10 and Verlander is his favorite pitcher and I explain to him mechanics all the time, and you can’t go wrong with JV’s mechanics, if you’re a young pitcher he’s is certainly a great pitcher to emulate. I have him throwing 4 seam, 2 seams, palmball change up and we just started working on a sinker.
Is he a 3/4 pitcher or does he throw overhand. Hard to tell
