The labrum, UCL, and other ligaments fray when we throw a baseball. Do these ligaments naturally repair themsleves in the offseason/when we don’t throw?
The reason why i ask this is because I just saw Joe Nathan is tore his ulnar collateral ligament, and he and the Twins have decided to rest/rehab the UCL rather than surgery.
I’ve talked with trainers/therapists and they’ve told me there is no way to strengthen the UCL-but if you strenghten the surrounding bone that takes more of the load when you throw.
Do ligaments such as the labrum and UCl repair themselves over time when we’re not throwing?
