Is football bad for your arm?

I’m being looked at by a few colleges, and dont know whether or not to continue to play football as a lineman.

I would imagine the weight training required to be a lineman is probably not the most appropriate for a pitcher.

Now, if you are talking about throwing a football, I’d say it’s fine in moderation. The body protects itself by shortening the arm path when throwing heavier objects.

Unless you’re John Elway.

Hose

it just increases the chance of injury like any physical activity

I dont know, but I know one big guy who was an excellent pitcher and a lineman whose sports maybe over because of the knee problems both from the pounding on the field and heavy weight lifting required by the football program.

It just not your arm-no knees-no play, and that goes double for back injuries…Ian.
