Is anyone in the MLB a linear hitter?

Does anyone know of any and if so can you provide some pics?

Linear and rotational are marketing terms. MLB players use “stretch and fire” and use the hands to rotate the bat. At least, the majority of them do. The guys at hittingillustrated.com

teach this concept. I recommend you check out that forum.

xv84, so they don’t use rotational hitting? I went on the website, it didn’t say anything when I clicked on a topic. Can you tell me what “stretch and fire” means?

If you went into the forums, just start a topic with whatever specific questions you have. Someone will give you an informative reply.

Stretch and fire basically means separate the lower body from the upper body then shift the weight off the backside so that the back hip can explode forward.

The word “rotation” promotes “spinning” in place and leads to improper mechanics. Linear cues actually work better IF understood correctly.

’s hitting ideas are similar to what is promoted at [url=http://hittingillustrated.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=7[/url] in terms of the “hips and hands” and “force applied to the handle”.
