Yes, I want to continue this "old conversation", because it involves something I have spoken about hundreds of times which is still extremely pertinent---The Secret. I'm specifically addressing this guy who says he's officially a waste: Come off it, bub, and listen carefully. The Secret is something you need to learn and master ASAP,because it involves getting your whole body into the action---something I learned many moons ago when I watched the Yankees' Big Three pitching rotation and saw just how they did it. They were all doing the same thing: they drove off the lower half of the body, using the legs, the hips and the torso in one continuous (and seamless) motion, thus getting more power behind their pitches and throwing harder and faster with less effort, even Ed Lopat who was not a fireballer---and taking the pressure off the arm and the shoulder. This is an essential element of good mechanics, and I'm surprised no one ever told you about it. And a good place to start is with something called the Hershiser drill, which aims at getting the hips fully involved---the hips are the connection between the lower and upper halves of the body. You can look it up on this website or the NPA website to get instructions on how to do this drill---no special equipment is needed, just a fence or a wall. So, bub, go to it, stop putting yourself down and start learning The Secret.
