Hunched over or standing tall?

Pat Tabler said tonight that the New York Yankees are trying to get Phil Hughes to stand tall so he stays on top of the ball…when he hunches…he pushes the ball

what are your thoughts?

With him having such a good curveball i think that him standing tall may take away from that pitch. I think that its really person preference. It was said somewhere else here Nolan Ryan stood straight up, and Randy Johnson is slouched over. If he does stand up it may also change his mechanics and that may hurt him more

At what point in his delivery is he hunching?

I smell some possibly faulty analysis.

xv84,

When he hits his balanced point (the front leg is at his waist)

And this is bad because? What’s Clemens doing at peak left lift?
