How to increase velocity 2

I am 15 and for a few months now if have been stuck in a rut at 70 to 73 mph. I have been doing long toss and it doesn’t seem to help. I recently started doing strength training so we will if that helps.

Any advice of how I can make my velocity better?


If you haven’t previously strength trained, you’ll likely notice some improvements around the 6-8 week mark.

Rotator cuff exercises, scap exercises, medicine ball exercises and plyos along with dynamic flexibility are the key areas that will help get you pointed in the right direction.

Personally as a college pitcher I have found explosive work to be greatly beneficial. We have a weighted ball program in addition to bungee sprints/side lunges/backpedals, olympic lifts such as squat, dead lift and in the offseason hang and power clean. Do these properly in addition to everything above and I have no doubt that you’ll gain velocity.
