do the hips open up right before the front foot lands or after?
Depends on one’s flexibility. I’d say for most pitchers the hips do start to open at foot plant.
when watching clips of clemens on this site his front foot opens up and points at home just before foot plant. is this the same time that his hips start to open?
Since my previous reply was sort of vague…
For most pitchers, the hips start to open as the front foot opens into foot plant. So the hips will start to open right before the front foot contacts the ground. Once the front foot plants and the front leg firms up and braces, the remainder of hip rotation occurs. Ideally, the shoulders then rotate after that.
ok i get it now thanks guys
