Hip rotations/shoulder rotation

Your hips are sposed to be fully rotated when ur foot hits the ground right?

In my attempt to keep my shoulder closed i found out that if i hold my shoulder back until my front foot lands and my hisp rotated like notmal my arm almost feels like a sling shot.Im not sure if it adds velo or anything its just something ive noticed in warm ups…


However, you also want your hips to open up at the last possible second (which is why I describe the motion as striding sideways).

This is exactly the point.

This way the work gets done by the muscles of the torso and the muscles of your arm only have to worry about holding your shoulder in its socket.
