Gaining Velocity idea


I am going to get on a long toss program for 6 weeks, should I stay off of a mound for that time to gain maximum velocity?


I don’t think long toss alone is really a velocity program per sey.
A couple of questions…
Why only six weeks?
Have you been doing any throwing up to this point?
What is your age and velo now?
Are you a pitcher or a position player or both?


I had a knee injury so i was out most of last year and just did a lot of reading about how velocity is created and what not and I would advise against just doing long toss. I would recommend focusing on increasing the explosiveness in your legs and working on your mechanics to make sure you are really driving with your legs.
