Football Throwing

Can somebody talk a little bit about the rise and fall of House’s football throwing program. I know he liked the footbal because of the emphasis on pronation, but I know he quit using it with his pitchers.

I don’t know for sure but assuming that he did abandon it, my guess is that he abandoned it because the weight difference between a football and a baseball was too great and caused pitchers to use a significantly different arm path and timing.

I’ll admit, I don’t know much about House’s football throwing program, but being a former high school QB and a college-level Pitcher, I can speak of the differences of throwing a football and a baseball. First thing for a QB is you want a quick, high release. I wouldn’t say you short arm it, but you definately have to take a different arm path with a football compared to a baseball. It is completely different timing between the pitching delivery and the delivery of a QB. But that’s just my 2 cents and my opinion.
