i am 13 years old and i throw into the high 60’s to low 70’s. My coach told me that i would get more velocity if my elbow is above my shoulder. i throw 3/4. Should i do this or leave my elbow were it is?
It’s ok to have your elbow above your throwing shoulder relative to the ground, but NOT above the level of BOTH shoulders. Simply raising your elbow to get to a higher arm slot will destroy your arm whether it be shoulder or elbow. This is a misperception. A higher arm slot is achieved with shoulder tilt as you can see.
