Drop&drive vs. stay tall

i see mixed opinions of whether in a pitchers stride you should “drop and drive” to get power from your lower half or to “stay tall and finish down”

any opinions?

Roy Oswalt almost sits down but most others stay up. Personally I am right in between but I really stay up.

drop n drive

If I don’t drop and drive I miss up. If I was more of a four seamer kind of guy I might stay tall, to take advantage of my height with a straight pitch.

most pitchers are in between

drive & fall
tall & drive

I believe this is the best way to get the most out of your lower body.

WHAT DID I DO NOW
most pitchers dont stay tall but they dont drop all the way down

i see what you guys are saying. One of my best features pitching is im able to use my whole body but ive always pitched with the stay tall theory. I just think i can utilize my body more to get more out of my pitches.

usually when a pitcher drops and drive he pushes his ball but if you stay tall you stay on top of all your pitches.
