Dream Team

What would you’re dream team look like with current players going into next year? This would be my lineup, pitching rotation:

  1. Jose Altuve, 2B
  2. Mike Trout, CF
  3. Miguel Cabrera, DH
  4. Josh Donaldson, 3B
  5. Bryce Harper, LF
  6. Paul Goldschmidt, 1B
  7. Giancarlo Stanton, RF
  8. Buster Posey, C
  9. Troy Tulowitzki, SS

pitching rotation

  1. Madison Bumgarner
  2. Felix Hernandez
  3. Clayton Kershaw
  4. Chris Sale
  5. Zack Greinke
  6. Sonny Gray

  1. Cutch-LF
  2. Trout-CF
  3. Goldschmidt-1B
  4. Harper-RF
  5. Donaldson- 3B
    6.JD Martinez- DH
  6. Posey-C
  7. Dee Gordon- 2B
  8. Brandon Crawford- SS

1.Gerritt Cole
2. deGrom
3.Chris Archer
4. Kuechel
5.Jose Fernandez

Wade Davis
Andrew Miller
Aroldis Chapman
Trevor Rosenthal
Drew Storen

I make these in my note sometimes for fun, so I think I have like 3 tiers of teams… Lol.

  1. Mike Trout, CF
  2. Paul Goldschmidt, 1B
  3. Bryce Harper, RF
  4. Giancarlo Stanton, LF
  5. Miguel Cabrera, DH
  6. Josh Donaldson, 3B
  7. Carlos Correra, SS
  8. Yadier Molina, C
  9. Dee Gordan, 2B
Notes: Even though Stanton has been injured, his power is second to none in the league. He’s a legitimate 50+ homer guy for the future. Toyed with arrenado at third, probably has better defense, but Donaldson has MVP offensive numbers and is a great defender too. Carlos Correra is a stud. If he kept this pace to up he would have 40+ homers at SS, unbelievable. The effect Yadier Molina has on a pitching staff is incredible (coming from a cardinal hater), his offense is below posey but doesn’t make a difference in this stacked line up. Second base to me was a toss up. Kipnis, Altuve, and. Gordon were all in the mix for me. I went for Gordon as a second lead off with his contact and speed. This lineup is very right handed heavy, so some alternatives: Rizzo, Crawford (incredible year for a shortstop like Correa), possibly Kyle schwaber in the future, Carlos Gonzalez.
On the bench I would have Billy Hamilton for sure, probably a few studs that barely got cut, good on both sides of the ball, like Cutch, Arrenado, Crawford, JD Martinez (would be my DH except… Miguel RAKES), and Posey. The rest would be gold glovers.
    Pitching Staff
  10. Clayton Kershaw, LHP
  11. Zach Greinke, RHP
  12. Jacob deGrom, RHP
  13. Dallas Keuchal, LHP
  14. Jake Arrieta, RHP
Some close calls for me: Sonny Gray, Chris Archer, Max Scherzer, Gerrit Cole, Madison Bumgarner, Jose Fernandez.
Note: I tried making it splits lefty righty, so that’s why I have Dallas there. I believe Gray is a better pitcher, but he’s right handed. Also, every one in the starting rotation is from the NL, are they perceived better because they don’t have to face the DH? Your opinion.
I don’t know many bullpen names, but I’ll give it a shot. We have 6 bullpen spots open. Chris Sale, long reliever/spot starter: I really think sale would thrive in the bullpen, the sox have too much invested in him though. Wade Davis, Aroldis Chapman, Delin Betances, my Philly Ken Giles, and Zach Britton
For the record, I’m a Phillies/Rays fan, Giants/Cardinals/Orioles/A’s hater, so not much bias.
Sorry if this is really long just the night before the first day of school, procrastinating going to bed early.
