We’ve got a great discussion here on taking time off from pitching/throwing during the off season, and the consensus is that pitchers should generally take a few months (minimum) off from throwing.
But what about during the season? What do you recommend for pitchers to prepare the arm, maintain it and continue to develop it?
I’d personally like to see pitchers throwing more to prepare for the season, throwing more off the mound between starts, and throwing more during those mid-week bullpen sessions. I don’t think kids throw enough once the season gets underway in a lot of cases.
