Do I have any chance of realizing my dream?

Even throw against a wall or into a field.

When I was a kid I used to spend hours throwing at a piece of wood in my back yard cause I didn’t have any one to play catch with till my Dad was done work.

All that matters is your throwing.

Yep.
I know, I saw the TwoPlusTwo thread. (This is my name over there, too.)

If you lived in Seattle, you could work out here. Sadly, that’s not the case. But it doesn’t matter THAT much; internal motivation is the only real thing that will keep you going.

Andrew does all of his work mostly on his own with a little guidance from me. There’s no reason you couldn’t do the same.
Speaking of poker, I’ve gotten friendly with a couple of minor leaguers who play at the casino. I know they work out in the area, I might as well ask to join them. Worst that can happen is they laugh in my face.

Lord know I’ve got plenty of space. I’ll get on it.

Kyle, what kind of weight work do you recommend?

I’ve found myself a good partner. He’s 20 years old, and was a pitcher in HS headed for VT before blowing out his arm and getting Tommy John Surgery. Says he threw 92 before the surgery.

He commented on my strong arm for someone with no baseball experience, and good break on my pitches. I’ve had similar comments from everyone with baseball experience who’s seen me throw.

Mechanically, I’m a mess though… I don’t really know the proper mechanics for a simple game of catch, much less throwing off the mound. Been watching Youtube videos, but it’s just not the same as having someone there teaching you.

My partner says we’ll work on my mechanics next session, we plan to throw 3 times a week.

I recommend you get a copy of my book when I finish it later this year.

I’ll cut you a pretty large discount.

You can check out Mark Rippetoe’s Starting Strength. Or the H&F Forum over at you know where. They’re pretty helpful.

I am going to buy medicine balls for flexibility exercises. What are the best weights to buy?
