Can someone tell me why zumaya does this

why his front foot lands heel-toe and lands open? cause i do the same thing and wanted to fix it

He lands heel-first so that he can properly stop his momentum and brace himself. You must have miss Front Leg Freak’s threads. More details in there.

He lands open to allow full(er) rotation of his hips and shoulders.

haha someone else noticed this!! also, take a look at verlander on www.chrisoleary.com. good view of front foot landing heel-toe AND open.

I am going to suggest something else here that literally I noticed today. watch the BACK leg of both zumaya above and lincecum in this video:

notice how the back leg is locked straight from landing through release.

this will cause tension from the knee through the hips, enabling the hips to rotate around and also DOWN. Notice how the belt buckle in lincecum’s delivery starts “level” and then rotates and points downish at release. This will help get the upper body to naturally get over the front leg, with SSC adding speed!

Front Leg Freak

also, better slo mo view of zumaya

he really lands with that foot WAY open
