What is the best way for a pitcher to stretch out and get ready to begin pitching? I have heard that static stretcing is actually bad for velocity so I was wondering what would be best to do, and what you guys do to warm up.
arm circles and tubing with 4-5 exercises 10 times before and after the game.
Helps me keep my arm strong.
You need to warm up before pitching. That means raising your core temperature. Static stretching does not do this. There are lots of things you can do to warm up well. Google “dynamic warmup” and read some of the articles that come up.
