Behind the ball

im having trouble staying behind the ball, as in pronating or supinating to early, and im losing velo and putting stress on my elbow. Any tips or drills for staying behind the ball??? any advice is glady apprecieted thx

One of the best feedback generators you can use is to take a large sharpie and draw a circle around the ball so that circle cuts between your index and middle finger on your 4seam grip. when you pitch you will be able to see whether the ball is rotating correctly (indicating proper release) if the line stays straight. If is it wobbling you know you aren’t releasing correctly. Keep working it until you have the proper feel.

I have used this drill with my son and it is awesome in its effectiveness and simplicity. Feedback is instantaneous, and the only draw back is having to position the line on the ball before each throw, which makes playing catch a little slower.
