I watched the game last night. Beautiful game. Beautiful pitcher. I saw Johnny Cueto pitch a complete-game shutout, four hits, no walks, eight strikeouts, and all I could say was that he reminded me very much of an all-time great Yankee pitcher—Whitey Ford. A strikeout-flyball pitcher at his best. The control and command were all there, and for once he got some run support—enough to get the win. “Cueto en fuego”, indeed, and this was one of the very best moves the Royals made, picking him up and getting him out of the National League and into a contender. Let’s have more of him—a lot more.
