Back Foot

I have been trying to gain some velocity by changing some of my mechanics. In the past, I seem to have my weight on the front part of my back foot when striding. Lately, I have been concentrating on keeping my weight more on the back part of my foot. It seems like I can generate more power this way and it seems like it makes it easier to keep my arm back a little longer instead of rushing. My question is if keeping your weight on the toes of your back foot could cause a drop in velocity?

My opinion is that if you’re focusing on placing your weight on the front or back half of the posting foot instead of on getting your weight moving towards home plate then that can limit your velocity. I say get into an athletic stance and get your center of gravity going towards the target - the weight distribution on the back foot should take care of itself (unless you’ve got some other issues going on).
