Arm Endurance 101

What are some good workouts to build arm endurance. (Pitch Count)

A incremental bullpen every 3 days for 7-8 weeks and you will get there.

I’ve tried that before and it helped a little bit.

Long tossing with a crow hop certainly helps building endurance. The goal is you’re trying to keep your first inning velocity into the sixth or seventh inning, so there isn’t a major drop off.

The other thing is working up to throwing 5-6 times per week during the season (or 4-5 times per week in the pre-season) by doing your standard mix of bullpens, long toss and regular throwing. Add shoulder conditioning exercises w/ tubing or lightweight dumbbells and you’re set.
