Arm Action of an Infielder vs Pitcher

I’ve noticed the arm action of an infielder is shorter, quicker, and more instinctual as they are more concerned with getting the ball to the base for an out rather than the path of their arm.

Pitchers sometimes have longer arm actions (paths) and it seems their way of throwing isnt as instinctual/natural.

What do y’all think

Of course. That tucked sidearm throw is probably the least stressful way to throw the ball, with a healthy arm anyway. The number of plays around the infield almost necessitates it.

In high school when I played third base, I had this issue. I always loved to rear back and throw the ball, long arming it like I do when I’m on the mound. It resulted many times in the ball sailing way too far.
