Are dips bad for the rotator cuff?

I read this somewhere recently, although I’m forgetting exactly where…Does anyone know if they put too much strain on the rotator cuff?

Not from what I’ve heard. I’ve been doing 1-2 times a week (3 sets, 5 reps) for about 4-5 months now. I was concerned about doing these at first, but my all-American weight teacher reassured me that if performed correctly, they should not cause shoulder damage. I was told though not to do anymore than your bodyweight…

they stress the front of your rotator cuff, you can feel it while doing them. There are much better exercises for triceps and chest.
