Aidan 12y analysis (improved)

Aidan is a pitcher I’ve worked with for three years now, and we are getting there with his motion. I wanted to post both new and old videos of his motion so you can see the difference.



It still looks like he needs more speed down the mound and to carry his hips forward more by the time he’s at the top of his lift.

How would you practice that. What would be the first step into doing that?

Pretend the wall is the pitching rubber and simulate pitching from the stretch. If you keep bouncing off the wall when you lift your leg, you aren’t getting your hips forward fast / early enough. Practice getting a full lift without touching the wall. Then practice it with a dry throwing motion keeping your hand from hitting the wall. Finally throw with a ball. Then take that action to the mound.
