A great loss

We lost a great gentleman of the game, a sprit of what the title Major Leaguer is all about. Tony Gwynn, at age 54 passed away. Tony was a master at his trade, a gentleman, a man who so many youngsters looked up to.

The likes of Tony Gwynn are hard to find today. Very hard to find.

One of my favorite players of all time.

My son texted me this morning to let me know. There are some things in this world that are impossible to understand.

A man like that you would have thought deserved a long and full life.

Instead, this. Well, I’ll just have to accept the fact that the man upstairs knows what he’s doing.

I know that Tony blessed countless lives.

Loved Tony Gywnn. Loved the guy. I went through some of my old baseball cards that I still have (are they worth anything?) and pulled out some of my early Tony Gwynn rookie cards, All Star cards, etc. The guy could seriously put on a hitting clinic. The game has changed a bit in the past 20 years. I’m not sure we’ll see another like Tony.
