Do D1 colleges only accept pitchers who throw 90+. And if you do throw 90+ does that automatically mean you can play d1?
No to both. Some of the top D1 schools want players who can locate one of 3 good pitches with movement in any count. It is true though the harder you throw the more room for error you have.
No and no. There’s guys at D1s that throw 95 and guys that sit 85. I top out at 91 and D1s weren’t too interested because (at the time) I didn’t have a decent second pitch and I can’t spot it. Velo’s probably the most important tool, but it’s not absolutely everything.
