Now that basketball is about to start i've been thinking about taking some time off throwing. How long should I do this and when would be the best time to do this?
I can tell you the best time would be now.The transition period from fall to spring.
well, i took my time off from August to November, so about three months.now that october is over im back throwing and will do so until around august or september of next year.
4-6 weeks of active rest has been shown to be all that is necessary to allow the arm and body to recover. Active rest means still getting some basic physical activity, just no throwing.
Do you guys do tubing when you're doing "active rest"?
wouldn't be a bad idea. 4-6 weeks off just means no throwing. Anything else you can do to keep your arm in shape is probably a good idea
Exactly lol. Just make sure that you don't over-do it when you're tubing. Sometimes I overexaggerate the tubing exercises and doing that can cause more harm than good XD
