Been playing catch on a regular basis for about a week now and my arm feels good. We are starting running tomorrow so that should help. In the locker room there is a flyer posted for a showcase. It is mainly for 2015 and 2016 grads, but said if there is extra space, then they would take 2017 grads ( I am graduating in 2017). I am not sure about it right now. In regards to my hitting, I think I am getting back to my swing. It is taking more time then I hoped it would. I have been getting in some good work after everybody else leaves so I hope I am gaining ground on the upperclassmen. My position in the field is third base, and the kid ahead of me is a junior that started last year. He also plays first and pitches. I feel like I have a better work ethic and attitude so maybe I can get some opportunities. The bad part is that if I do get a solid amount of playing time on the varsity level, I am afraid that teammates will think that it is because I am the coaches son. That is far from the truth. He is harder on me and expects more, so it will be harder for me to get playing time. I need to improve myself in every aspect of my game and will not stop working toward my dream.
